In this episode of Breaking The Chains, cancer survivors not only share their journey battling cancer as a sickness but also address society’s general attitude to the illness as something that affects “others” not themselves. Consequently the fear and stigma around cancer makes it difficult to have helpful conversations. These women share some of the most challenging parts of their experiences involving peoples comments once they deliver their news that they have cancer, or the struggle of finding a healthy coping mechanism for their family members.
